Sunday Services

“Hi.” “Welcome!” “We’re glad you are here!” …. This is what you will hear when you join us on Sunday morning worship that begins at 10:30 a.m. The Worship Service is the heart of our community.

While the philosophy of our church is quite progressive, our worship has the feel of a traditional Protestant service. The pastors and choir wear robes, and classic hymns are set to music from a pipe organ (although some of the words have been revised to reflect a more inclusive worldview).  Often our choir sings traditional music, but sometimes you may hear them sing a spiritual or more contemporary piece.  Most of the time soloists will sing accompanied by organ or piano, but on occasion an acoustic guitar, a violin, harp or other instrument  may make an appearance.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.  We practice open communion, so all are welcome to the table.

Children are welcome to remain with their families during worship (we are glad to have babies in worship and we don’t mind if they cry), but there is also a nursery for parents across the hall from the sanctuary.  Once a month, children in kindergarten through elementary school begin worship with their families, have a children’s message as a part of the service and then leave for Sunday School. They rejoin their families following worship.

Kristkindl Markt

KKM.jpg

Our Annual Kristkindl Markt happens every December. KKM is a German-themed holiday event that includes a Biergarten with live music and German food, homemade cookies sold by the pound, and the ever-popular Gingerbread House-making adventure for children that benefits Operation Breakthrough. Vendors will sell gifts for your holiday shopping. We hope to see you there this Christmas!

Friday Fish Frys

Four Fridays during Lent, we offer a Fish Fry with swai and cole slaw prepared by Chef Tim Moore. We include hush puppies, tater tots, pudding and other desserts in addition to lemonade, wine and beer. Meals may be eaten in our Social Hall or taken "to go." We hope you'll join us in the Spring!
