Sunday Services:
“Hi.” “Welcome!” “We’re glad you are here!” …. This is what you will hear when you join us on Sunday morning worship that begins at 10:30 a.m. The Worship Service is the heart of our community.
While the philosophy of our church is quite progressive, our worship has the feel of a traditional Protestant service. The pastors and choir wear robes, and classic hymns are set to music from a pipe organ (although some of the words have been revised to reflect a more inclusive worldview). Often our choir sings traditional music, but sometimes you may hear them sing a spiritual or more contemporary piece. Most of the time soloists will sing accompanied by organ or piano, but on occasion an acoustic guitar, a violin, harp or other instrument may make an appearance.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. We practice open communion, so all are welcome to the table.
Children are welcome to remain with their families during worship (we are glad to have babies in worship and we don’t mind if they cry), but nursery care for infants through preschool is available. Children in kindergarten through elementary school begin worship with their families, have a children’s sermon as a part of the service and then leave for Sunday School. They rejoin their families following worship.
Adult Education takes place at 9:00 on Sunday mornings in the church library.
